Ken has been a criminal defense lawyer since 1985. His first twenty-two years of practice were with the Office of the Public Defender. He started in its Appellate Section. In that capacity, he handled appeals for persons convicted of the whole gamut of New Jersey crimes. This gamut ranged from theft and drug offenses, to murder.

Ken obtained full or partial relief for his clients in two of the three Appellate Division precedential matters that he handled. On the third precedential matter, the Appellate Division denied all reflief. Ken appealed that denial to the Supreme Court of New Jersey. The Supreme Court reversed the Appellate Division's decision. That reversal established important protections for defendants pleading guilty to sex offenses.

After three years, Ken moved to the Middlesex Trial Region. Over the following nineteen years there, he handled a similar variety of cases, including trials, “in the trenches.” Most of his trials were before juries. Limiting our list to just A through C, Mr. Goodman is experienced in cases involving appeals, arson, bad checks, burglary, cds in a motor vehicle, child pornography, cocaine, conditional dismissals, conspiracies, and credit card fraud.

Ken has been in private practice since 2007.
