Other Weapons
Other than concealed firearms for persons licensed to carry, persons in New Jersey are prohibited from carrying weapons for self defense in their cars or on their person. They can carry a baseball bat, for example, but only when traveling to or from a baseball game. They cannot carry a hunting knife. In fact, they cannot carry any knife at all, except for a clearly defined, lawful, NON-self protection purpose. Got a concealed carry person? Great! You can lawfully carry a concealed weapon on your person as you go about your business. But God help you if, instead of (or in addition to) that concealed handgun you carry a baton, or a slingshot, or tear gas for self defense. Insane? Of course!
